The Challenge Galway Triathlon – 26th June 2017
The Challenge Galway Triathlon will involve half or full triathalon options. The half trianthalon covers a 1.9km swim, 90km cycle and 21.1km run. The full triathalon covers a a 3.8km swim, 180km cycle and 42.2km run. A race village will be built at the former ‘Topaz’ site at Galway Docks, which will include concerts, bars and other entertainment over the weekend.
SeaFest – National Maritime Festival – 30th June – 02nd July 2017
SeaFest is Ireland’s national maritime festival and this year it will be held in the Galway Harbour area in late June 2017. The extensive SeaFest programme of events will include a seafood fair, seafood cookery demonstrations with celebrity chefs and seafaring family fun. Come along to discover all about our ocean from exploration methods to shipwrecks and life of deep oceans.
Galway International Arts Festival – 17th – 30th July 2017
The festival, celebrating it’s 40th birthday this year, takes place each July in Galwa and covers a range of art forms. In 2016, over 200 events took place in 26 venues over the course of 14 days with an attendance in excess of 200,000. 2017 acts already announced include an impressive Big Top programme featuring Irish singer/songwriter Gavin James, Passenger, and The Beach Boys legend Brian Wilson, who will present Pet Sounds in its entirety for the last time.
Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series – Inis Mór – 24th June 2017
Ireland will host one of the six stops of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series 2017 at Poll Na Péist (Serpent’s Lair) on Inis Mór on 24th June. The world’s elite male and female cliff divers will return for the third time to the rugged west coast of Ireland for a dramatic competition opener.
